Hanging Heart Ranch is happy to introduce both owners and instructors, Michelle McKenzie and Justine Gentilini:
Michelle McKenzie began her riding career in the Santa Ynez Valley at 8 years old. She competed in barrel racing, pole bending and goat tying through the California High School Rodeo Association and many other junior associations. She has worked for Cindy McClellan since she was 12 years old, helping with children and adult lessons, horse camps and training horses. Michelle has previously worked teaching children’s lessons in the Santa Ynez Valley for The Little Big Riding School.
Justine Gentilini began her riding career in New York, riding English and showing in the hunter/jumper circuit. She competed with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association at Cornell University for four years; she spent her first three competitive years riding for English team, and her fourth year in Western, where she competed in Ocala, FL for the Semi-Finals. She has worked for several trainers in New York, helping to start and train horses. Justine also has an extensive background in several Western disciplines such as reining, horsemanship, and barrel racing. Justine previously worked as a trail guide at the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort, teaching guests how to ride.
